The APC Symmetra PX 80kW, a compact UPS solution often installed in small to medium data centers, was frequently paired with APC ACRC100 Series InRow units to create efficient line-up-and-match server rooms in the mid to late 2000’s.
This popular UPS and Cooling combination was discontinued by the manufacturer several years ago. The APC Symmetra PX 80kW was end-of-life at the end of 2021 and the ACRC 100 Series InRow units will be end-of-life in 2024. Today, APC by Schneider Electric has limited availability of spare parts available to support the APC Symmetra PX 80kW units that remain in the field. If you have a Symmetra PX 80kW or ACRC100 Series InRow unit(s) in your data center, it is time to plan for replacement.
There isn’t a like-for-like replacement option for the APC Symmetra PX 80kW, so each site needs to be carefully evaluated and the replacement UPS custom configured. the ACRC100 Series InRow units do have a like-for-like replacement option with the ACRC301.
Lead times on 3-Phase UPS and data center cooling equipment, in general, are often 40-60 weeks, so planning and budgeting for replacement long before it is needed is critical.
